Mass describes how much material is present. Volume describes how much liquid it occupies. The U-100 scale describes 100 volume units per mL.

Does a 0.5 mL barrel mean U-50?

No. Capacity and calibration are different specifications. This calculator’s 0.3, 0.5 and 1 mL options explicitly model U-100 devices. Read the calibration and graduation from the actual device label.

What does a result between marks mean?

The exact calculated volume does not coincide with the entered increment. Neighbouring marks represent different quantities. The tool does not choose a rounded setting or establish measurement accuracy.

Can this calculate an individual blend component?

Only when you enter the independently verified mass and concentration of that component. The total mass of a blend cannot identify component amounts. One shared volume contains every component in its fixed ratio; component draw volumes must not be added together.

Does a supply estimate establish storage life?

No. Quantity counts do not establish compatibility, sterility, potency or stability. These require product-specific evidence. See the storage reference.

What about products labelled in IU?

International Units express biological activity. They are not the same as U-100 volume markings, and there is no general IU-to-mg conversion. This tool accepts mass units only.
